SEASCAPES
Calm and storm, ebb and flow, continuous gentle fluidic swirl and violent tidal torrents, the unpredictability is inherent to ocean’s nature. Yet, the infinity of distance and the unpredictability of weather as you stand on the edge of land invariably tug on irresistible notions of exploration and discovery even as it fascinates and terrifies with equal force.
Today, vessels transversing seas and oceans, epitomise the proliferation of industry, technology, trade, economy, transmissions, and human intervention in nature.

SINGAPORE JUNGLESCAPES
Singapore is an ever-expanding modern city-state, known for its slick office towers, expensive hotels and innumerable apartment blocks. Almost no one in Singapore gives nature or its past natural landscape a conscious thought. Yet many small pockets of wild nature are easily found all around, and often flanked by concrete and asphalt. The contrast of nature versus city is glaringly apparent.
These images were made from sidewalks and margins of traffic, sometimes at bus stops or right in the midst of pedestrians. Singapore Junglescapes plays on contradicting preconceived notions and common perceptions, creating the unfamiliar with the familiar. This series of work explores physical and psychological dualities between what is natural and what is manufactured, what is transient and what is permanent, and invariably, the constant flux between necessity and desire is apparent in how we relate to nature and what we choose to see.

TROPOSCAPES
Troposcapes is a series of natural scenery found in the earth’s troposphere.
This series of work was created from the physical and psychological need to escape the confines of compressed spaces in the city, and the confines of schedules and routines.
Living in large and densely populated cities, it is inevitable that urban chaos invade our psyche. The sky, an expanse of space without limits, and clouds evanescent in nature, provide quiet, respite and a meditative calm within the confines of our daily busy routines.
Troposcapes is the association between the infinite outer expanse with an inner, contemplative state of mind. This body of work explores the dualities of the momentary versus the eternal, obscurity versus clarity, and nothingness versus being.

ALL IN BETWEEN
"All In Between" is a melding of memories and experiences in New York City. It is a montage of unfettered experiences of the expected, the unexpected, the expected unfolding unexpectedly and the created.
