No single image can really capture the enormity of meaning in our lives or of our place in our macrocosm, but perhaps it can offer a momentary anchor, a simplified sense of order in a brief moment where clarity and epiphany find their place in our perception. These moments of realizations, of truths are fleeting instances, as these thoughts can materialize as instantaneously as they disappear. The mind easily forgets and obscures.
These images of the vernacular and the mundane touch on the landscape of life, the journey of the conscious and subconscious mind. It is an attempt to find meaning in the ordinary and the seemingly meaningless. The photographs are glimpses of thoughts between consciousness and subconsciousness and between clarity and obscurity. This series strives to capture the transience and ephemerality of these fleeting instances. It is such periphery that plays on the connection between the definitive and the ambiguous, permanence and transience, and awareness and oblivion.
