Singapore is well-known as an advanced modern city-state, well-known for award-winning architecture, slick office towers, shopping complexes, expensive hotels, and fields of tall apartment blocks.

Before the COVID years, almost no one in Singapore gave nature or its past natural landscape a conscious thought. 
Singapore Junglescapes was made between 2007 - 2011 when I visited Singapore every December. Many small pockets of wild nature exist all over the city, often flanked by concrete and asphalt. These images were made from sidewalks and margins of traffic, sometimes at bus stops or in the midst of pedestrians. 

Singapore Junglescapes plays on contradicting preconceived notions and common perceptions, and challenges fatigued familiarity of ordinary everyday encounters.
